Godfrey Marine, builder of Godfrey pontoons and Hurricane deckboats, was recognized by the state of Indiana for 63 years in manufacturing and service to its employees, the community and the state.

Godfrey was one of 101 Indiana businesses to receive the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business Award, presented by Gov. Eric J. Holcomb.

“I’m honored to recognize these dedicated Hoosier business leaders who have created a lasting impact not only on their communities, but to the state as a whole,” Holcomb said.

Sponsored by the Indiana Economic Development Corp., the Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards honor state companies that have remained in operation for 50 or 100 consecutive years and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.

“We are proud to be selected by Gov. Holcomb and the IEDC for recognition of our long history of service,” Ben Duke, general manager of Godfrey and Hurricane, said in a statement. “While our products may be marketed globally, we have always felt a powerful connection to our community, and every one of our employees is part of a strong team.”
