Groupe Beneteau announced this week that it received approval to sell its housing division to RV and towables manufacturer Trigano.
The transaction includes the acquisition of Beneteau’s subsidiary Bio Habitat, along with the O’Hara, IRM and Coco Sweet brands, and the employees in France and Italy.
“This sale marks the beginning of a new chapter in Groupe Beneteau’s history, allowing us to accelerate our strategy of refocusing on our core expertise in boating,” Groupe Beneteau CEO Bruno Thivoyon said in a statement. “I would like to once again commend the work done by the housing division teams since its inception in 1994.”
Beneteau said the sale will allow it to focus on the boat division, accelerate the transformation to new technologies to reduce emissions, and develop business in other boating segments.
