Flux Marine, the Rhode Island-based developer of electric outboards and battery systems, announced that it is the inaugural rigging partner of Highfield Boats. The partnership will allow Highfield to accelerate delivery times by installing and rigging the 115-hp Flux outboard on an electric version of its Sport 660 RIB as part of the build process.

“This is an exciting milestone for Flux Marine as we expand access to more markets and dealers,” CEO Ben Sorkin said in a statement. “It shows how leading brands like Highfield are not only embracing but accelerating the shift to marine electrification.”

Flux said the partnership advances the integration of electric propulsion into boatbuilding and defines the way electric propulsion manufacturers work with builders to “electrify the industry.”

“It was an amazing journey from the very first meeting with Flux Marine to today, when we are in production with a really good product,” added Christophe Lavigne, president of Cadillac, Mich.-based Highfield Boats USA.
