Houston-based Hyperfuels announced that its PurFuels 93-octane gas will be available to boaters in Connecticut and Maryland. Hyperfuels has partnered with Advanced Fuel Solutions as the regional marketing company for New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

“Finally, marinas have a high-performance gasoline that they can offer to their customers who desire a true premium gasoline that will not have any ethanol-related fuel issues,” Hyperfuels president Jess Hewitt told Trade Only Today.

“We have been selling this premium product in Texas since the NMMA endorsed the gasoline for outboard engines,” Hewitt said. “The major benefits are better performance, no ethanol fuel-related issues and lower evaporative emissions. Every consumer notices the performance difference first.”

PurFuels contains isobutanol. The chemical replaces ethanol to produce gasoline that is fully hydrophobic, repels water and does not absorb moisture from the atmosphere. It is the only ethanol-free gasoline that is “street legal” to be sold at marinas, gas stations and convenience stores, according to a company statement.

Hewitt told Trade Only Today that the fuel, widely available in Texas, is now also available in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Florida. It can be sold in any gasoline pump or dispenser.

PurFuels ethanol-free gasoline can be dispensed from E85 gas pumps, and by offering multiple octane levels, the gasoline can be used in typical blender dispensers as regular, midgrade and premium gasoline.
