Freedom Boat Club, a division of Brunswick Corp., announced its 200th franchise location during the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference in Tampa, Fla.
Glenn Bergoffen, owner of the Tampa-area FBC franchise, added a location in Madeira Beach, Fla.
“Reaching our 200th location is quite a milestone for Freedom Boat Club,” said Freedom Boat Club president John Giglio in a statement. “We announced our 100th location just over three years ago, so to add another 100 locations in that short period of time is a testament to the growth of boat clubs and boating participation.”
“The growth of Freedom Boat Club has been astounding, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it,” Bergoffen said. “There is no greater feeling than knowing you have the gift to impact lives, and in our case our members, just by the little things you do.”
Freedom Boat Club serves more than 40,000 members in the United States, Canada and Europe, and it recently earned the top spot from Entrepreneur magazine in the Miscellaneous Recreational Business category for the second year. FBC was also ranked No. 270 in the overall 2019 Franchise 500 list and was included in Inc. magazine’s 5000 list.
“This is an exciting time for Freedom Boat Club and the boating industry,” said Brunswick Corp. business acceleration president Brenna Preisser. “We are defining a new category in the marine industry, and the more Freedom grows, the more our industry grows, as well. The synergies between all of our Brunswick brands and Freedom Boat Club are in the early stages, and we are very excited about the opportunities for continued collaboration.”
