The American Boat & Yacht Council Foundation is partnering with the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference to host a Student Career Day during the show Oct. 5. The event will give more than 60 students from Florida marine technical schools a closer look at the boating industry. Confirmed schools include Manatee Technical College, Fort Myers Technical College and Suncoast Technical College.

Career Day will include a lunch with guest speakers and opportunities for students to tour the exhibit halls. Students will also have access to technical seminars, including:

• Customer Care in the Service Yard with Steve D’Antonio

• Hands-on Connectors with John Barry

• Science of Composites with Bob Lacovara

“The ABYC Foundation is dedicated to bridging the gap between aspiring marine technicians and established industry leaders,” accreditation director Sarah Devlin said in a statement. “Through our Student Career Day at IBEX, we’re offering a platform for continuous learning and valuable industry networking.”
