The International Council of Marine Industry Association and Singapore Boating Industry Association have announced the inaugural ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference. The event will be held at ONE°15 Marina April 23-24 in conjunction with the Singapore Yachting Festival.
Themes of the conference are sustainability and decarbonization, with ICOMIA’s Propelling Our Future campaign shaping much of the dialogue. The program will include presentations on topics from propulsion systems to infrastructure development. Panel discussions will engage the potential development of Asian markets and industry efforts to grow boating.
The keynote speaker, ICOMIA president Darren Vaux, will present ICOMIA’s research paper “Pathways into Propulsion Decarbonization in the Recreational Marine Industry.” He will be joined by ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch, who will speak about the need to support industry engagement in Singapore and other Asian regions.
“We have renewed our focus on supporting the leisure boating industry in Asia with the appointment of our new regional representative Su Lin Cheah, who is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,” Lynch said in a statement. “It’s great to see this conference come to fruition as a result, alongside the proactive engagement of SBIA, and we see this as an excellent opportunity to provide support and to engage with such a vibrant market.”
