The International Council of Marine Industry Associations named Carla Demaria a co-opted board director.
Demaria most recently led Bluegame — a yacht brand under Sanlorenzo — as CEO, and she continues to advise the Sanlorenzo chairman while serving on the company’s board. During her tenure, Bluegame built a reputation for pushing boundaries in design, innovation and sustainability.
Demaria’s career spans decades across the marine, leisure and manufacturing industries, with particular strength in building brands, driving international expansion and leading strategic change.
ICOMIA board president Frank Hugelmeyer in a statement called her appointment significant to the organization and the broader industry, pointing to Demaria’s expertise “particularly across some of the world’s most significant and influential boatbuilders” as a key asset.
Her appointment as a co-opted director underscores ICOMIA’s broader push to bring in outside expertise as it works on industry collaboration, sustainability efforts and advocacy on a global scale.
