IGY Marinas announced the appointment of Wayne Whitby as shipyard services director, based at IGY Sète Marina in France. Whitby most recently was technical sales director and technical director at Esaom Cesa shipyard in Italy, where he led technical and commercial operations supporting yacht owners, captains, engineers and industry stakeholders.
“Wayne’s exceptional combination of engineering expertise, project management experience and client-focused commercial leadership makes him an outstanding addition to the IGY team,” Simon Bryan, vice president of European operations, said in a press release. “His deep understanding of yacht operations and refit management, coupled with his strong industry relationships, will be instrumental as we continue to grow our shipyard services platform and deliver support to our customers.”
Whitby’s experience includes service as a chief engineer, seven years managing refit engineering projects, four years in technical management roles, and extensive experience bridging technical and commercial disciplines within leading Mediterranean yards.
