The National Marine Lenders Association elected three new members to its board of directors. Jeff Backus, Lauren Key and Caroline Mantel will serve through 2025. They replace Karen Trostle, Bob Dunford and Matt Anderson.

“The board of directors looks forward to working with Jeff, Lauren and Caroline and are excited to see how they can help move our association forward,” NMLA president John Haymond said in a statement.

“We are grateful that Karen, Bob and Matt plan to remain key players in our association through various committee assignments,” he added.

Backus is COO of First Approval Source, a company he founded in 2012. He also has dealership management experience.

Key has served on NMLA’s advisory council, and conference and sponsorship committees. She’s the vice president and director of recreational finance for Shore Premier Finance and is a veteran of banking operations.

Mantel also is a member of the NMLA advisory council. In her work at Boat History Report, she has collaborated with the Coast Guard, law enforcement, insurance companies, financial institutions, consumers and retailers to promote greater transparency to the boat-buying community.

Also serving on the board are John Haymond, Michael Stodolak, Noelle Norvell, Don Parkhurst, Jim Coburn, Dan Hubbard, Jackie Forese and Bill Otto. Robin Cottmeyer is executive director, and Jim Stewart is NMLA’s legal counsel.
