Canadian builder Legend Boats has partnered with Boat Fix, a telematics provider based in the United States, to provide customers with tracking, monitoring and 24-7 service. The new offering will be available next year.

With Boat Fix, a Legend customer can see the location of a boat and monitor its systems, including battery levels and bilge pumps, via an app. The application also offers theft protection. The Boat Fix Control Center operates 24 hours a day, providing alarms and mechanical helpline support.

“The Boat Fix app is incredibly useful and easy to use, and the surefire reliability of their telematics hardware is so important for the convenience of our customers,” Legend co-CEO Jamie Dewar said in a statement.

Added director of innovation Maurice Beland: “We looked at a lot of telematics providers and had a lot of options. Delivering a combination of advanced technology and impeccable service, Boat Fix was unlike anything we had tested.”

Boat Fix will be available as an option on new Legend models, with a launch at the Toronto Boat Show, scheduled for Jan. 20-29.
