The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission decided to allow personal watercraft access in additional wildlife management areas.
PWC previously were allowed in only a handful of them; the ruling would open all other wildlife management areas in the state without safety concerns to PWC use.
During an open comment period the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries received only letters supporting the allowance of PWC access, according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
A 30-day period for legislative comment and oversight will now begin.
