Tennessee-based Malibu Boats today announced its financial results for the three months ended Sept. 30.
Compared with the same period in 2025:
- Net sales increased 29.9% to $252.9 million.
- Unit volume increased 15.1% to 1,299 units.
- Gross profit increased 35.5% to $37.8 million.
- GAAP net income increased from a net loss of $0.7 million to a net income of $6.1 million.
- The board of directors approved a change in fiscal year-end from June 30 to Dec. 31.
The company said the increase in net sales was driven primarily by $51.1 million in revenue from Saxdor, acquired in March. Net sales in the Malibu segment fell 9.1% to $71.5 million.
“Our results for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026, reflect a softer retail environment over the summer and our decision to manage wholesale shipments with discipline to protect dealer health, which kept net sales modestly below our guided range and constrained adjusted EBITDA,” president and CEO Steve Menneto said in a press release. “Cobalt and our saltwater brands grew volume, and Saxdor contributed meaningfully to growth, which was partially offset by softer demand in the ski/wake boat category, where Malibu continued to gain share amid a challenging environment.
“We will continue to align wholesale shipments with retail demand to support our dealers through this cycle, and our outlook for the next quarter reflects that approach. At the same time, we are making tangible progress on our long-term priorities, from completing our first U.S.-built Saxdor boats at Fort Pierce to debuting new models across our brands at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. We remain intentional about our outlook until we see more durable evidence of a broader recovery,” Menneto said.
Because of the fiscal-year change, the 12 months ending June 30, 2027, will not be a reporting period, so the company’s previous outlook for that span no longer applies.
For the three months ending Dec. 31, the company expects net sales of $236 million to $248 million and adjusted EBITDA of $13 million to $15 million. For the six-month transition period ending Dec. 31, the company expects net sales of $489 million to $501 million and adjusted EBITDA of $27.3 million to $29.3 million. The transition period outlook includes first-quarter net sales of $252.9 million and adjusted EBITDA of $14.3 million.
