Mastervolt yesterday introduced the MLI Ultra 1250 lithium-ion battery, the most compact in its range.

Mastervolt said the battery can last up to 3,500 cycles at a depth of discharge up to 80 percent due to its lack of self-discharge and “memory effect.” With the proper charging conditions, the battery can be recharged fully in 60 minutes.

“We’re committed to designing and innovating the next generation of the lithium-ion batteries and alternative energy sources,” Advanced Systems Group president Brett Dibkey said in a statement. “The official launch of the MLI Ultra 1250 represents an exciting milestone in our path to lead the industry in this effort.”

Available in 12- and 24-volt versions, the MLI Ultra 1250 is designed for applications where space is a premium. Mastervolt said it is a drop-in replacement for Group 31 and 49 batteries, and weighs 33 pounds.
