Australian builder McConaghy Boats today announced that it acquired carbon fiber catamaran builder Cure Marine and its intellectual property.

McConaghy said in a statement that what began as a potential production partnership evolved into a full integration of the Cure brand into the McConaghy portfolio. Under the new structure, McConaghy takes over manufacturing of the Cure range, transitioning production to its facilities in Australia to leverage its composite engineering and autoclave capabilities.

“We saw a unique opportunity to bring a successful Australian design into the McConaghy fold,” group managing director Mark Evans said in the statement. “By combining Cure’s performance-driven IP with McConaghy’s global production scale and technical expertise, we are ensuring a bright and sustainable future for these exceptional catamarans.”

McConaghy said it appointed Ed Penn sales manager for the Cure series. The builder added that the brand maintains its Australian heritage through its connection to McConaghy’s Sydney headquarters and continued collaboration with the original design team.
