Blackfin Boats yesterday launched its largest model to date, the 400CC, at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show. The flagship was designed and built with Michael Peters’ stepped vee ventilated tunnel hull, making it the third boat on which Peters has collaborated with Blackfin.
“Blackfin does more due diligence on its structure and getting the job ready for production than most,” Peters said in a statement. “This boat was designed to accommodate more utility and family features.”
The boat is powered with four 400-hp Mercury Verado V-10 outboards, which also charge a lithium battery bank with enough capacity to run air conditioning and other appliances that typically require a generator.
“Blackfin has always built our boats with 30-30-30 in mind — 30% fish, 30% cruise and 30% entertainment,” vice president of design and engineering Mark Owens said in the statement.
Blackfin Boats this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
