Mission Critical Electronics, the parent of ASEA Power Systems, announced this week its acquisition of Magnus Marine, a provider of high-power shore power conversion and advanced hybrid power solutions for megayachts. The acquisition strengthens MCE Marine’s position in marine power solutions for the superyacht industry and broadens its product portfolio and European presence, a company statement said.

“Magnus’s cutting-edge solutions complement ASEA’s industry-leading shore power systems,” Richard Gaudet, president of MCE Marine Power, said in the statement. “As shipyards around the world are actively scaling up designs and construction to meet the growing demand for larger superyachts, this acquisition is enhancing MCE’s ability to support larger vessels with greater power demands.”

Magnus Marine is based in the United Kingdom. Its management team and workforce will remain in place and fall under the overall leadership of Gaudet, the statement said.
