Bridge Marina in Lake Hopatcong, N.J., this week announced that its president, Ray Fernandez, was appointed to the board of directors of the National Safe Boating Council. NSBC is dedicated to promoting safe and responsible boating through education, outreach programs and advocacy.
“Being invited to join the board of directors for the National Safe Boating Council is both atremendous honor and a responsibility that I take seriously,” Fernandez said in a statement. “I am deeply committed to helping boaters of all skill levels enjoy our waters safely and responsibly, and I look forward to working alongside the incredible group of professionals on the NSBC board to further strengthen boating safety efforts on both local and national levels.”
Bridge Marina educates thousands of new boaters each year by hosting the required New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate Course, as well as hands-on, on-water instruction at multiple locations. The marina also participates in the conversation around safe boating practices online, posting social media content about boating safety, tips and best practices.
