Nautique Boat Co. has partnered with Hop on a Cure, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research.

Nautique will host the Hop on a Cure team at several events, beginning with the Nautique Masters water ski and wakeboard tournament at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain Ga., May 24-26.

“Our culture here at Nautique is to make a difference in our community, and I’m excited to get involved with the great people of Hop on a Cure,” Nautique president Greg Meloon said in a statement.

Under the Nautique Cares initiative, there are several philanthropic efforts with which the company participates.

The Hop on a Cure Foundation was founded by John Driskell “Hop” Hopkins, a founding member of the Zac Brown Band, and his wife, Jennifer. Hopkins was diagnosed with ALS in December 2021.

“Research for ALS is an underfunded area, and awareness is so important,” said Nic Shefrin, CEO of Hop on a Cure. “There’s a natural alignment between Hop on a Cure and Nautique, from Hop’s lifetime love of the water to Nautique’s mission to help make the world a better place.”
