The National Marine Distributors Association board of directors have set new dates for S.T.E.P. (Sales, Training, Education and Purchasing) 2021, confident that it can be held as an in-person event.

S.T.E.P. is slated for August 2-5 in Rosemont, Ill., near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

“The continuing rollout of the vaccination process leaves us optimistic that we will be able to hold our ‘traditional’ event,” said NMDA president Mike Conners of Land ‘N’ Sea in a statement.

The event was held for 28 consecutive years until last year, when it was canceled due to Covid-19. The last in-person event in 2019 was among the largest S.T.E.P., with more than 70 buyers and 900 meetings held.

“Our goal, and our hope, is that we will hold an in-person event this year [and] we will…be following CDC and State of Illinois guidelines when presenting S.T.E.P. to our members,” said NDMA executive Director Nancy Cueroni. “If restrictions are still in place for face-to-face meetings, we will make whatever changes we can to safely hold S.T.E.P.”
