
The National Marine Distributors Association this week the recipients of its Supplier of the Year awards.
The awards were announced during during the S.T.E.P. Purchasing Conference in Rosemont, Ill.
According to a statement, NMDA members have voted annually since 1972 to recognize their top suppliers for overall excellence in supply-chain management, marketing, packaging, and shipping and customer service.
The Diamond category was won by Sea-Dog Line. The Everett, Wash., company is a supplier of more than 5,500 dock, deck and rigging hardware items, and 12-volt electrical/lighting and ventilation accessories.
ARCO Marine was the winner in the Platinum category. ARCO manufactures alternators, inboard and outboard starters tilt/trim motors and other engine parts.
In the Gold category, Gold Eagle was announced as the winner. The company offers cleaners, protectants and additives for the marine and automotive markets.
Special Focus awards in each category also were presented. The awards are scored by adding together the categories that are appropriate and are given to the companies that scored highest in each category.
The Marketing Award Diamond category was won by Sea-Dog Line. ARCO Marine and Gold Eagle took home Platinum and Gold, respectively.
Sea-Dog Line also won the Supply-Chain Efficiency Award Diamond prize. ARCO Marine and Gold Eagle took home Platinum and Gold, respectively.
In the Distributor Channel Support category, Sea-Dog Line won Diamond, Star brite won Platinum, and C.E. Smith won Gold.
