PHOTO COURTESY NMLAThe National Marine Lenders Association held its 43rd annual meeting on Dec. 13. The board of directors elected Michael Harbaugh, president at Vantage Recreational Finance, John Haymond, SVP at Medallion Bank and Don Parkhurst, SVP at MET Bank to three-year terms on the board of directors. Noelle Norvell, president of Luxury Financial Group, was named the association’s new president.
In a statement, the NMLA said that the 2024 board includes Michael Stodolak of Independent Bank (vice president), Lauren Key of Shore Premier Finance (secretary), Bill Otto Treasurer (Emeritus) and Don Parkhurst of M&T Bank is the assistant treasurer.
Other board members are Jeff Backus of First Approval Source, Jim Coburn of Coburn Consulting Group, Caroline Mantel, associate director at Boat History Report and Jackie Forese, emeritus.
Harbaugh has more than 20 years of experience in consumer finance markets. In 2012, he co-founded Vantage Recreational Finance, which was acknowledged by Inc. magazine, which called the company one of the fastest growing private entities in the U.S. for 2022 and 2023.
Haymond has worked in banking for more than 30 years with more than 20 of those devoted to marine lending. He currently serves as senior vice president of business development for Medallion Bank and served as NMLA president for the past four years. He’s been a board member for 12.
Parkhurst brings 42 years of banking and marine lending experience to the NMLA board. Currently, the senior vice president and marine credit manager at M&T Bank in Keswick, Penn., he was the head of SunTrust Bank’s Marine & RV Finance Division from 1998 to 2019. The assistant treasurer of NMLA, Parkurst is a past president and has served as a director since 1999. He is also chairman of the legislative committee.
The NMLA executive director is Robin Cottmeyer and Jim Stewart is the association’s legal counsel.
