Personal watercraft were the big winners in California in the third quarter.

That was according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s quarterly newsletter highlighting California-specific economic indicators and statistics.

Traditional powerboat retail sales in California were up 3.3 percent on a rolling 12-month basis year over year.

Personal watercraft retail sales in the state were up 13.9 percent on a rolling 12-month basis.

The state’s unemployment rate was at a seven-year low of 6.1 percent, the group reported.
