The Northwest Marine Trade Association announced that it named Jay Jennings vice president and director of government affairs.
“We are beyond excited to have Jay join our team, with his wealth of knowledge and experience of working in Olympia,” president and CEO George Harris said in a statement. “He is a boat owner and already familiar with many of NMTA’s most important issues. Our members can be confident that Jay will be working hard every day to represent their interests with elected officials and policy makers all across the region.”
Jennings was legislative director for the Washington Secretary of State for the last four years, with a focus on advocacy, strategy and legislative communications. His 25-year career in governmental affairs and policy started in Washington, D.C.
“It’s an honor to join the team and build on the excellent advocacy work NMTA is known for,” Jennings said. “I’m looking forward to combining my passion for boating with my legislative expertise to continually advance the interests of marine businesses and recreational boating in the region.”
NMTA produces the Seattle Boat Show and the Anacortes Boat and Yacht Show.
