
Ocean Life Network, a website and ad-supported network focused on the ocean and nautical environment, is launching Oct. 15. The site is partnering with 30 content creators from the marine space as part of an advertising revenue-share program in addition to creating its own original content.
One of those partners is Power & Motoryacht magazine, a sister publication to Soundings Trade Only. Both titles are owned by Active Interest Media.
“Power and Motoryacht brings strong content in the form of the magazine’s extensive library of tests and videos,” Capt. Steve Larivee, OLN’s director of content, told Trade Only Today.
In a statement, OLN said that when the site launches, it will have 20 different shows with more than a year of content available. As part of the partnership agreement, the companies providing videos receive 50% of the revenue share for each episode.
Larivee comes to the site from a background that includes more than 42 years as a licensed mariner and more than 16 years in marine-based digital media. He is best known as Capt. Steve from his days at BoatTEST.com.
OLN was founded by chairman and CEO Richard Wolpert, who has an extensive background in technology and consumer digital media. His background includes position as president of Disney Online, CSO of RealNetworks and CEO of Music Net. He’s also an investor in Jukin Media and Canela Media.
