Off the Hook Yachts announced that it completed the acquisition of Apex Marine Companies, adding South Florida service, storage and sales operations to strengthen its refurbishment capabilities and operational efficiency. The Apex facilities include storage and service locations with haul-out capacity for boats to 130 feet and 150 metric tons, along with repair, refit and refurbishment teams.
“The integration of these capabilities is already generating millions of dollars in annual cost savings by reducing third-party service dependencies, lowering transportation costs, accelerating turnaround times and delivering higher-quality refurbishments,” CEO Brian John said in a statement. “This centralized approach allows us to standardize refurbishment quality, reduce cycle times from acquisition to resale and scale inventory without proportional overhead increases.”
Off the Hook said the combined operation creates a centralized South Florida hub near Fort Lauderdale and Miami where buyers can access a large inventory of used boats in one location.
Headquartered in Wilmington, N.C., Off the Hook Yachts describes itself as a vertically integrated marketplace focused on brokerage, wholesale trading, auctions, financing and services.
