Bulgaria-based power catamaran builder Omaya Yachts named Jean Paul Vaele head of commercial to steer the builder’s international expansion.
Vaele has spent more than 25 years in commercial roles spanning snowboarding, furniture, solar energy and electric marine technology, according to a press release. His most recent marine industry stints include electric builders X Shore, Green Power Boats and Crooze Yachts, as well as e-foil company PWR.
Vaele will be tasked with growing the dealer network and pursuing new international markets. He described the brand in the statement as having strong potential to become a leading “boutique” name in the category.
CEO Kaloyan Radulov said in the release that the hire reflects the company’s next stage of growth: “His experience across both established brands and emerging electric marine businesses gives him a valuable perspective as we continue to develop Omaya.
“We are at an exciting stage in the company’s journey, and strengthening our commercial leadership is an important step as we build our international presence and continue to establish Omaya as a leading power catamaran builder,” Radulov added.
