The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable has named Cassandra L. Elrod program and administrative director. She brings extensive experience in the outdoor recreation industry as well as legal expertise to the role.

Elrod joins ORR from Outside Interactive Inc., where she was commercial counsel and played a role in project management and legal support for the inaugural Outside Festival in June 2024. Her experience in the outdoor recreation industry includes providing legal risk analysis and business expertise across various business streams, negotiating commercial agreements and managing the intellectual property portfolio for more than 10 brands.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Cassandra to the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable,” Jessica Wahl Turner, ORR president, said in a statement. “Her unique blend of legal expertise, project management skills, and passion for the outdoors will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for policies that enhance outdoor recreation opportunities across the nation. We look forward to the fresh insights and innovative approaches she will bring to our organization.”

In her new role, Elrod will work across ORR’s program areas, overseeing operations, communications, policy, programs and events. She will coordinate ORR members and industry stakeholders to educate congress, federal agencies and state governments on policies aimed at enhancing outdoor recreation experiences and the quality of life for outdoor enthusiasts.”

“The opportunity to collaborate with such a diverse group of stakeholders to promote and protect outdoor recreation is truly exciting,” Elrod said in the statement. “I look forward to leveraging my background in legal and policy work to advance ORR’s mission of connecting all Americans to the great outdoors, while also prioritizing sustainability and the long-term health of our natural resources.”
