According to NMMA’s New Powerboat Registrations Report, new powerboat registrations were up 3.8 percent through February on a rolling 12-month, year-over-year basis.
Tow boats, personal watercraft and pontoons boats were growth leaders with their respective sales up 9.9 percent, 8.7 percent and 4.1 percent R12M YOY through February. These categories accounted for about 50 percent of new powerboat unit sales. Sales of larger boats 27 feet and greater were up 5.9 percent R12M YOY.
The NMMA reported that sales fell 4.8 percent for the three months through February compared to the same period a year ago. But the trade association noted those are low-volume sales months that represent just 11 percent of annual sales on average.
