Electric boat and motor manufacturer Pure Watercraft announced that it is planning to use North American Charging Standard connectors on its boats, according to reporting at msn.com.

General Motors holds a 25% stake in Pure Watercraft and in earlier this month GM CEO Mary Barra said owners of Chevrolet and GMC vehicles would be able to access Tesla superchargers with an adapter next year. The first GM vehicles with a built-in NACS socket are expected to come off the line in 2025. Ford also has an adapter coming for the short term.

Pure Watercraft’s pontoon was developed in collaboration with GM and uses the automaker’s 66-kilowatt-hour battery pack with single or twin 25-kW electric motors. Pure said one battery pack provides the equivalent of two gallons of gas range, more at lower speeds.

A single-engine version of the boat retails for $75,000, and the twin-engine model starts at $95,000.
