After securing $37.5 million in Series A funding in December, e-propulsion outfit Pure Watercraft announced it acquired Minnesota-based electric pontoon builder Elux Marine. The acquisition gives Pure Watercraft a foothold in the largest per capita U.S. boating market. “As we begin our 2021 launch year, we know we need to be close to our customers,” Pure Watercraft CEO Andy Rebele said in a statement. “By acquiring Elux, we connect to a key boating market with a team that has established itself as a leader in launching electric boats.”
Sealants and adhesives manufacturer Sika Marine joined the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas as a Platinum partner. “We look forward to not only working with the MRAA and its members, but to increase the marine industries knowledge in our technology solutions in both boatbuilding and DIY boat repair,” Sika USA’s Mark Daniels, vice president, transportation and appliance and components, said in a statement. “Our experiences within the OEM side for adhesives, sealants, tooling and composites gives Sika Marine the edge for a vast range of applications.”
