Registration is open for the American Boat & Yacht Council’s Standards Week, an event the group will hold virtually Jan. 5-28 to allow attendees to be engaged in revisions to the boatbuilding and repair standards. What has usually taken place over a week of day long meetings will be extended to limit the length of virtual sessions and create an inclusive opportunity for global participation. “In a virtual setting, we know participants will still be getting all the regular work pressures and distractions, so we limited the session lengths to three hours and have different PTC meetings in the morning and afternoon,” said ABYC technical director Brian Goodwin in a statement. “This arrangement will allow attendees from around the world have dedicated time slots to focus on the standards review without sacrificing an entire workday.” Visit www.abycstandardsweek.com to learn more and register.
Oxe Marine has secured a multiyear, U.S. government contract to supply its diesel outboards to support operations in Central America, the builder’s largest distributor, Diesel Outboards LLC, said in a statement. This mission demanded dependable and powerful engines to meet the requirements of peacekeepers. Spartan Corp has chosen the OXE Diesel Outboards to provide engines to meet the challenges of this austere environment to ensure the success of this critical mission,” said Spartan founder and CEO Jess Loban.
