The Dubai International Boat Show has been postponed for the second time this year. The event — originally scheduled for March 10-14 — was rescheduled for Nov. 24-28, and now is slated to take place March 9-13, 2021. In a statement, organizers said: “Following close consultation with Dubai Harbour and Dubai International Boat Show stakeholders, Dubai World Trade Centre shall reschedule Dubai International Boat Show to March 2021, when Dubai Harbour will be fully operational to offer the most seamless marina lifestyle experience to all international event participants, yacht owners and residents.”
New Zealand-based foul-release coatings manufacturer Propspeed has partnered with Fairline Yachts to be standard issue on all its Volvo Penta IPS-equipped vessels. “The addition of Propspeed … to each vessel’s IPS drive system ensures that a Fairline boat owner can count on exceptional and lasting performance and the peace of mind that comes from knowing their investment is protected from corrosion and unwanted marine growth,” said Propspeed CEO Chris Baird in a statement. Fairline’s technical services director Martyn Hicks agreed: “We have supreme confidence in the reliability and durability of Propspeed and feel that it is the best option to protect the Volvo IPS system.”
Vantage Resource Group has launched a free Marine Dealer wholesale portal to help marine retailers share and help each other as boat demand continues and supply is strained. Dealers may not want to offer up boats they know will sell in their markets, but sometimes have models that aren’t moving locally that other dealers can sell. “Think of it as one large inventory pool to draw from when a specific boat is needed to for a certain customer, or you have a model that is just not selling in your market,” said the company in a statement. “The marine industry is changing; are you changing with it?”
