Olympic and America’s Cup sailor Steve Colgate — who founded Offshore Sailing School in 1964 and designed the namesake Colgate 26 sailboat — said that the 26-footers will now be built at Kingstown, R.I,’s Waterline Systems. “Waterline Systems is the perfect builder for Colgate 26s as they currently build the Alerion yacht line and will provide that same high quality in producing the Colgate 26,” Colgate said in a statement. Waterline Systems have been building and optimizing sailboats for over 3 decades, led by owner and avid sailor Randy Borges.
Chaparral and Robalo Boats hosted their annual dealer conference virtually Aug. 25-27, where executives covered new product development, marketing updates, parts updates, a company snapshot, as well as a state-of-the-industry glance. “As wonderful as the virtual meeting was, there is no substitute for seeing our dealers in person and interacting with them face to face,” said Chaparral founder Buck Pegg in a statement. “While we weren’t able to meet in person, it was still a unique opportunity to get together virtually and honor our exceptional dealers from around the world.
