The International Council of Marine Industry Associations announced that registration is now open for its World Marinas Conference, scheduled for Oct. 12-14 at the Address Dubai Marina.

The primary goal of IWMC is to spur growth of the recreational boating sector in Dubai and throughout the United Arab Emirates, organizers said, with panel discussions that focus on tourism, hospitality, the marina of the future, superyachts and more.

The event will be hosted by Leisure Marine Association MENA, with support from P&O Marinas, Dubai Tourism, D-Marin and Dubai Harbour.

Its start is slated to coincide with EXPO 2020 Dubai, which was postponed from last year because of Covid-19.

“IWMC has been instrumental in uniting the local boating community and the marine industry and this year, as the host of the event, we hope to carry on the legacy of this renowned conference,” said MENA chairman John W.R. Paul in a statement. “The event will most certainly aid great partnerships to support the increase in demand for marina infrastructure in UAE and beyond.”

The conference will follow current Covid-19 regulations enforced by the Dubai government that include social distancing measuring and face masks. In addition, all guests and exhibitors must provide proof of being fully vaccinated to attend.
