Rushton Gregory Communications said it hired Jordan Balbresky as public relations account executive.

The Boston-based marketing communications agency said Balbresky is a former public relations professional serving the high-tech and consumer electronics industries who is returning to the agency world after a decade of hands-on marine experience.

Living in the Caribbean and working in all aspects of the marine industry — from yacht building, restoration and maintenance to charter captain and delivery crew of sailing yachts and motoryachts — Balbresky brings a firsthand understanding of the outdoor and maritime markets to his role.

He is a licensed scuba instructor and a master mariner and has taught scuba diving and sailing, raced sailboats professionally across the Atlantic Ocean and lived onboard a custom-built schooner while skippering charters in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Jordan has an established history in marketing communications and real-world experience that is perfectly tailored to our customers and the markets we serve,” Rushton Gregory principal and co-founder Andrew Golden said in a statement.

“This experience will allow him to quickly grasp our clients’ offerings and position them effectively for maximum impact, as well as work seamlessly with the media to develop targeted story ideas.”
