The Sabre 38 Salon Express now offers twin Yanmar 370-mhp 8LV engines and ZF2800 pod drives as an option.
“Yanmar engines provide an excellent fit for our motoryachts,” Sabre Yachts sales and marketing vice president Bentley Collins said in a statement. “Their V-8 engines are extremely smooth-running and offer the fast acceleration Sabre customers expect. Yanmar 8LV engines also have an optimum power/weight ratio.”
In a performance test, the Yanmar diesels and ZF pod drives pushed the Sabre 38 from idle to plane in five seconds, the company announced. Cruising speed was 30.6 knots at 3,600 rpm and the maximum speed at 3,855 rpm was more than 33 knots.
The 8LV series complies with EPA Tier 3 requirements.
