Safe Harbor Marinas continues to be active, acquiring Shelburne Shipyard in Shelburne Vt. The purchase reportedly closed on October 28 and brings the total marinas owned by the Dallas-based company to approximately 90 properties.

According to vtdigger.com, a property transfer document filed with the Shelburne town offices showed that Safe Harbor Marinas paid $3 million for the 15.2-acre property that has eight buildings on site. The facility was reportedly valued at $3,244,700 in November, 2018. Additional details on the transaction were not available and yard management wouldn’t comment.

Shelburne Shipyard sits on the Shelburne Bay on Lake Champlain and has been in continuous operation for nearly 200 years.

The acquisition was the latest in a series of moves that Safe Harbor Marinas has been making. Earlier this month, Weatherford Capital, a private-equity firm in Florida, made a $41 million investment in the company, which acquired Hideaway Bay Marina on Georgia’s Lake Lanier. That followed the acquisition of Newport Shipyard in Rhode Island in October.
