Saxdor Yachts has taken over a new facility in Larsmo, Finland, in a move to expand the company’s production capacity. Saxdor said it will start by adding about 50 jobs with the goal of eventually increasing that number to 100.
The company says it is actively recruiting local individuals with boat manufacturing experience and that it wants to positively contribute to the local economy.
“This expansion of production to Finland represents an important milestone for Saxdor,” Erna Russi, Saxdor CEO, said in a statement. “Besides additional production capacity to meet the high global demand, it gives us the opportunity to have another innovation hub for R&D.”
The Saxdor factory in Elk, Poland, covers 107,639 square feet and employs 550 people. It will remain a cornerstone of the company. The Finnish facility will focus on new-model development.
