The Sea Tow Foundation, in conjunction with the Boating Safety Advisory Council, announced the recipients of its National Boating Industry Safety Awards. The program recognizes efforts to promote safety within the for-profit sector of the industry.
“We received a record number of applications this year and were so happy to see the enthusiasm for boating safety across the for-profit side of the industry,” Gail R. Kulp, executive director of the Sea Tow Foundation, said in a statement. “The creative efforts made by every applicant get us one step closer to making the water a safe and fun place to be.”

Rapid Media was named the Top Marine Media Outlet for its marketing campaign focused on new paddlers for the Water Sports Foundation. Garmin International was named Top Gear & Equipment Manufacturer for its multichannel marketing approach to promote safe, responsible boating.
First place in Marine Public Relations, Advertising or Marketing Effort went to Chubb Personal Risk Services. MarineMax earned honors as the Top Large Marine Retailer for the fourth consecutive year with its Back to (Boating) School campaign.
The Sea Tow Foundation had planned to present the awards at IBEX in September. With the show cancelled because of Hurricane Ian, the awards ceremony and video interviews with winners will be posted to the Sea Tow Foundation website Oct. 20 and shared on LinkedIn.
