Propeller manufacturer Sharrow Engineering this week announced that it is expanding into a 60,000-square-foot facility at the Eastland Commerce Center near Detroit, more than tripling its manufacturing footprint and allowing the company to scale production up to 2,000 units per month.

“This expansion is a powerful statement about the future of propulsion technology and American manufacturing,” Sharrow founder and CEO Greg Sharrow said in a statement. “By investing in local talent and cutting-edge facilities, we’re positioned to bring the same transformation to aerospace, defense and energy that we already brought to the marine industry. It’s an exciting new chapter as we set out to redefine what’s possible in propulsion on a global scale.”

The company said production at the new space will start in September, with full operations expected by December. The expansion complements the relocation of Sharrow’s headquarters to Newlab at Michigan Central, a hub for innovation and mobility in Metro Detroit.
