Sirena Yachts has renovated three manufacturing halls at its waterside location in Yalova, near Istanbul, Turkey. The buildings add more than 1.6 million square feet to its manufacturing space. The manufacturer plans to build its 138-foot 42 Steel superyacht at the facility.

“Yalova is an area renowned for its commercial shipbuilding, so it is appropriate that we should be building the 42 Steel there,” chief operations offer Ali Onger said in a statement. “Hot steel work, such as cutting, bending and welding will be done by sub-contractors on site. We will also do the outfitting and interior fit-out here. The chief advantage is that we can launch our growing range of big yachts directly from the production halls, with no need for transportation to the water’s edge.”

The Yalova site is about 25 minutes from Sirena’s headquarters where the company’s 48, 58, 68 and 78 are built. The 68 and 778 are finished at another location in Yalova due to their air draft.
