Soundings Trade Only this week added two industry veterans to the panel that will judge the annual Top 10 Most Innovative Marine Company Awards. A ceremony to announce the winners will precede the opening of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference, which is scheduled for Oct. 3-5 in Tampa, Fla.
Joining the five judges already impaneled are Sara Anghel, past president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association Canada, Darlene Briggs award winner, and president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association; and Lou Sandoval, former national director of business development for Brunswick Corp., author, and CEO and president of the Halo Advisory Group, a management consulting firm.
“We are thrilled that Sara Anghel and Lou Sandoval, who both have broad marine industry experience, will join our judging panel this year,” Gary Reich, editor-in-chief of Soundings Trade Only, said in a statement. “That experience will no doubt power thoughtful discussion and judging of the companies who entered our Top 10 Most Innovative Marine Company Awards this year.”
In addition to Anghel and Sandoval, the judging panel comprises Bill Sisson, editorial director emeritus of the AIM Marine Group; Reich; Gary DeSanctis, president of the AIM Marine Group; Andrew Clurman, CEO of Active Interest Media; and panel-at-large advisor Michele Goldsmith, vice president and general manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group.
The panel will review a broad range of company initiatives, which include Altruism/Social Awareness, Development & Technology, Work Culture, Manufacturing Process/Supply Chains and Start-Ups. Applications can be multidimensional, crossing multiple categories.
The awards will focus on the period from Aug. 16, 2022, through Aug. 17, 2023. Applications may be submitted here through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 18.
