Most recently, Yanchunas reported on the U.S. steel industry for American Metal Market, part of Euromoney Institutional Investor. He was affiliated with Professional Mariner magazine for a decade, serving as editor-in-chief from 2013 to 2016. He also was a writer and editor with the Associated Press, Bloomberg News and several daily newspapers. He was the national president of the American Society of Business Publication Editors from 2017 to 2019.
