Metstrade, Soundings Trade Only, British Marine and Marine Industry News have formed a “Women in the Marine Industry International” LinkedIn group.
“After last year’s successful Women in the Marine Industry International event at Metstrade, we surveyed the participants requesting their feedback and suggestions,” Michele Goldsmith, vice president and general manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group, said in a statement. “This new LinkedIn group, created as a place for women working in the recreational marine industry to gather, share, learn and inspire, is a direct result of requests from the audience. The online group will offer a shared space to connect, provide information, educational tools, opportunities and much more.”
Added Metstrade director Niels Klarenbeek: “We are happy to contribute to the empowerment of women in the industry through a dedicated social platform — a place where we can connect, support and inspire each other, fostering growth and sharing knowledge.”
British Marine CEO Lesley Robinson said it is essential that the partners “create spaces for professional interaction and growth, specifically for women navigating the marine industry.”
“We are so pleased after last year’s great event to be able to support the growth of the Women in the Marine Industry International network through the creation of this additional place for discussion, the sharing of ideas and connecting with one another,” Lyndsay McClay, commercial manager at Marine Industry News, said in the statement.
The LinkedIn group goes live Aug. 15. Click here to join.
