Soundings Trade Only will host the 2021 Leadership Summit from 2 to 5 p.m., Sept. 27, at the Tampa Marriott Water Street, adjacent to the Tampa Convention Center, the location of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference, which opens the following day.
A reception and announcement of the winners of Soundings Trade Only’s 2021 Most Innovative Marine Company Awards will follow the summit.
The Leadership Summit will feature renowned executive Dr. Balaji Krishnamurthy. Krishnamurthy has a Ph.D. in computer science and has run a variety of service and manufacturing-based, private and public technology businesses. Time magazine recognized him as one of the 25 Global Business Influentials, and other publications, including The Wall Street Journal, have written about his innovative concepts as representing a new genre of corporate leadership.
The Leadership Summit will include a two-hour session focused on intentional leadership, building corporate culture and workforce empowerment.
“Leadership is the product of leverage and legacy,” Krishnamurthy said in a statement. “Business leaders must leave behind a better organization than they found it. Join us to learn how to be intentional in how you lead, the leverage you can have through your culture and the legacy you leave behind.”
The final hour of the summit will comprise a panel moderated by Krishnamurthy, with panelists to include Bill Yeargin, CEO of Correct Craft; Brett Dibkey, president of the Advanced Systems Group at Brunswick Corp.; Brett McGill, CEO and president of MarineMax; Jeffrey Poole, president of Siren Marine; Martin Bjuve, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas; and Robert Oswell, founder and CEO of Roswell Marine and president of the Water Sports Industry Association.
“I had the opportunity to attend a seminar led by Dr. Krishnamurthy several years ago, and his ideas, tools and stories made an indelible mark,” said Michele Goldsmith, publisher of Soundings Trade Only. “We are excited to offer the opportunity for him to share his expertise with the marine industry, and look forward to an exceptional industry panel who will contribute their skills, knowledge and forward thinking. The summit is designed to inspire the marine community with new ideas and practical tools at the kick-off to IBEX week.”
The Leadership Summit is sponsored by the Advanced Systems Group of Brunswick Corp., Correct Craft, Roswell Marine, Siren Marine and Volvo Penta of the Americas.
