The Sea Tow Foundation has announced the schedule and speakers for its inaugural Life Jacket Loaner Conference. The virtual conference will take place March 5-7 with a focus on boating safety, networking and best practices for loaner stand hosts.

“By bringing together experts, loaner station hosts and industry professionals, we aim to create a space for meaningful conversations,” Gail R. Kulp, executive director of the Sea Tow Foundation, said in a statement.

The conference will start with a session led by Verne Gifford from the Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety, as he explains how boating safety data applies to loaner station hosts. The day will conclude with a session on the U.S. National Water Safety Action Plan led by Elizabeth Bennet and Linda Quan.

On the second day Troy Faletra, president of the Life Jacket Association, will explain how PFDs are developed, tested and approved. Kelli Toth will provide details on a set of PFD standards being developed for the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

Day three will include “How to Earn PR and Spread Awareness of Your Life Jacket Loaner Stations” with Onwrd & Upwrd’s Colleen Gallagher and Meghan Henning. The day will conclude with social media strategies for loaner stations.
