The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference announced yesterday that the Yachting Ventures Start-Up Pitch Competition will return this year, offering emerging tech companies a platform to showcase their innovations. Scheduled for Oct. 8 on the main stage, the event follows a successful 2024 debut and will include presentations from four to five selected start-ups.

IBEX is scheduled for Oct. 7-9 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.

Organizers said the pitch competition is designed to give early-stage ventures access to potential investors, industry leaders and strategic partners. Companies will be evaluated on innovation, scalability and relevance to the marine sector.

“We’re assembling a strong panel of judges and are pleased to once again offer early-stage companies a platform to connect with the U.S. marine industry and gain valuable feedback,” Yachting Ventures founder Gabbi Richardson said in a statement.

Start-ups that are currently raising finances are invited to apply to pitch. The winning company will receive potential funding and media coverage across Yachting Ventures and IBEX channels.

IBEX will also feature a Start-Up Pavilion with 12 companies, selected by Yachting Ventures, displaying products and services on the show floor. The show is expected to draw more than 8,000 attendees and 700-plus exhibitors.
