The Soundings Trade Only Group, along with Metstrade, British Marine and Marine Industry News, has launched the Global Women’s Walk 2025, which invites people to walk 5K (3.2 miles) wherever they are, with whomever they choose, during the week of May 11-18. The walk honors, supports and elevates the women shaping the marine industry and coincides with International Women in Maritime Day, May 18, established by the International Maritime Organization.
“This initiative is about more than just taking steps — it’s about driving real change, strengthening connections and recognizing the impact of women in many facets of our industry,” Michele Goldsmith, vice president and general manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group, and founder of the Women in the Industry programs, said in a statement. “I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating, supporting and elevating women in the marine industry worldwide.”
The Global Women’s Walk will extend its impact beyond the boating industry by supporting Room to Read, a global nonprofit dedicated to literacy, learning and gender equality. Participants will have the opportunity to donate and contribute to advancing education for young girls worldwide.
