
Ron Huibers, former president and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas, and George Armendariz, former CEO of the Americas for Groupe Beneteau, joined the judging panel for Soundings Trade Only’s Most Innovative Marine Company Awards.
The awards program recognizes companies that are innovating and disrupting the marketplace to advance their activities and the marine industry. The awards are open to all types and sizes of marine companies.
“Our team looks forward to these awards each year,” Soundings Trade Only editor-in-chief of Jeff Moser said in a statement. “The submissions tell the story of how leadership, creativity and innovation are progressing in the marine industry, and we are honored that Ron Huibers and George Armendariz, who both have extensive experience leading key marine manufacturing companies, will join our judging panel this year.”

The panel will review a broad range of company initiatives in several categories, including:
• Altruism/Social Awareness
• Development and Technology
• Work Culture
• Manufacturing Process/Supply Chains
• Startups
The judging panel also includes Moser; Bill Sisson, vice president and editorial director of the AIM Marine Group; Gary DeSanctis, president of the AIM Group; and panel-at-large advisor Michele Goldsmith, publisher of Soundings Trade Only. The awards program focuses on the period from Aug. 15, 2020, through Aug. 14, 2021. Applications can be submitted here until Aug. 15.
